The Golden Harps Steel Orchestra is committed to exposing London, Ontario and the surrounding communities to the sweet sound of
pan, which has the distinction of being the only musical instrument to be invented
in the 20 century.
The band has been training Londoners of
all ages, of different nationalities, races and gender.
To meet its vision of uniting people with music, the
Golden Harps Steel Orchestra has been a regular feature in numerous community
events including:
- The 2007 Black History Month Celebrations at the Wolf
Performance Center, London Public Library
- The London Santa
Claus Parade
- Afrofest 2008
- The
Thorndale Fall Fair
- Dorchester Parade and Fall festival
Our music has also been enjoyed at the White Oaks
Community center and at various retirement homes and churches.
The annual
summer picnic is a fun event that provides an afternoon of relaxation that is
reminiscent of a stroll along a Caribbean beach chipping in the sun to
sweet melodies after a tasty island cuisine!
Come out and Join us for
the 2009 Picnic!
